Hello,
I'm selling my 98 SL600 (autotrader) since I just purchased an 03 Sl500. Guess I need to change forums and hangout here now!

So, I just don't care for the Bose systems. They sound really flat in the mid-range and the bass (sorry, no punchy sub here) just isn't there for me.

I understand our system is 'fiber optic', but does that mean the speakers have some funky inputs.
I've been an audiophile for years, but never dealt with what this might entail. If its indeed 'fiber', then somebody must make a replacement ?

I know they're in the doors and a small set behind me and above the luggage holder - Where else as I'm not sure where the bass (sub) is ?

Thoughts ?

Yup, Bose is crap. Looked into get something done when I got the car but it would have used too much space so didn't bother. Let us know how you get on.
The Harmon-Kardon in our R-class is miles better.

yeap, its good someone brought this topic up again, i have the same problem, bose is not enough.. as far as i know, the woofer should be somewhere where passengers would usually put their feet :p

im really looking forward to see what are you going to do, and then im most likely going to do the same..

I have a 08 SL600 and I too was very disappointed in the sound system of the car. I already have people looking into switching out the speakers and I should have an answer within the next couple of days.

I will share what I learn when I know about it.
