SL/R230: Front Grill changes

Front Grill changes
I notices a crack on one of the upper fins on the front grill. I dont really like the look of the distronic emblem anyway so I was thinking of replacing it.
A couple of questions:
Any confirmation on the 07+ grill fitting on 03-06 yrs?
I noticed that the current emblem for distronic is almost like a guard so nothing can F up the sensor behind it. Is this true? I dont see any wires hooked directly to the emblem itself, so I was wondering if I will be able to use a standard grill emblem with the distronic sensor?

okay, confirmed 07 grill fitment with some minor tweeks. Anybody have an answer for question #2?
