SL/R230: Hardwire V1 on the SL550

Sold 06 CLS500. SL550 09. SL550 2013. Own C6 Corvette heavily customized garage queen 2005.
Hardwire V1 on the SL550
So, picked her up yesterday and glad I got the 09...........she is a beaut..promise when I get my camera back, will post pics...
Anyway, by putting the V1 on the dash, it's not working, needs to be a lot higher up,..forgot about this fact as didn't have this problem on the CLS as had clear vision to the back................anyone got any links or pics showing how it's done and where you mounted your radar detector? I don't want to stick it on the windshield and have the lead just hanging down and plugged into the lighter...........Appreciate it..

i dont have pics but i have the V1 hardwired in my sl. get the remote display if you don't. i mounted mine up by the rear mirror and the remote display is in my dash in front of my gas gauge. have the wires ran thru the headliner and into the compartment underneath the dash. there you will be able to tap into power wires.
