Last of the '08 purchase
I have not posted on the SL forum but have been quiet active on the S and GL boards with pictures and comments thru the years.
Yesterday I closed a deal for a new 2008 SL550 with P1, AMG Pkg and Parktronic in Black on Black. Take delivery probably after the 4th. Just wanted to say hello and let you know pictures will be forthcoming in great numbers. To see what I did with the GL just take a look at my website album located in my signature URL. Purchased from Westminster MB in Denver (bought my S550 and GL550 there) and got a fantastic deal. Trunk money alone was $12000!

Thanks jeffery... trunk money is cash provided to dealers from MB as an incentive to sell the vehicles. This is common toward the end of a model year and the figures become quite large when the model is the last of that variant. The new '09 facelifted SL is already out and in order to get all the 2008's sold and out of inventory, the incentive for the month of June was $12000, thus the large discount I got on my deal.

Cngrats Jack. Very pretty. My 2003 SL was Black, great color. Looks like we both changed colors. I went with a 2008 White SL550 and got the $12K trunk money in January along with another $7K+ off sticker. Hard to pass up. Last of a beautiful model run. Enjoy

Thanks. Sound like we got similar deals...I had not planned on a SL but with that large a discount I could not pass on it. I owned three SL's back in the late 70's and early 80's but not one like this. Looking forward to the trip home from Denver to Las Vegas over the hill and around the curves...:-)

Congrats Nevada Jack! I was about to post the same thing except mine is Mars Red and I'll pick it up on Wed after they install the IPOD interface and
3M Starshield. I was originally in the market for an '07 SL550, but I can't get the kind of deal on an '07 that I got on my '08 with just 62 miles.

I've been more in the market for a used SL600, SL55 ('06, '07). But, if the deals are ripe, maybe I'll hunt down a reamining '08 sl550. If I can be nosey, what's the sticker and what's the final price, "roughly"?

Based on some other entries and mine, it looks like about $17-18,000 off MSRP. With AMG PKG, P! and Parktronic MSRP looks like about $105-107,000. You do the math...:-)

Looks fantastic! I have not seen a pic of mine yet from the dealer since it is a vehicle trade from SF to CO dealer. Do you have the AMG Pkg and are they the standard AMG Pkg wheels? Note the wheels in my signature...this is also a 2008 image and I was wondering about the wheel selections.

I had not even looked at the '09 but now that I have I do not like the new grill with the single piece and big star. It just doesn't fit my eye...also the car has almost a NASCAR look to it from certain angles. I am sure it will grow on me as well as others. I do like the upgrades on the interior, especially the COMAND options.
