delete esp!!!

I'm going to the dyno next week! does anyone know how to delete the esp so it won't come on when the car is on the dyno? I know the esp switch doesn't totally delete it! does anyone make a device that eliminates the esp??

You have to put the car in dyno mode.

Insert the key. Turn it so it stops on the first click.

Press the reset button 3 times.

On the menu that appears, scroll to a menu that says something like ESP Dynamometer Test, and switch it to on.

A little more detail here:

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/209405-dyno-mode-07-08-amg-s.html

It's listed throughout the forum a bunch of times, if you search for "dyno mode". Worked wonderfully for me, looked it up on the net right while I was trying to get the car dyno'd!

What part do the instructions fail? Are you able to get "dyno" mode up on the screen? Do you get the screen before that? Did you make sure to have the screen set to the "odometer" when you started the process?

To debug, it will be good to know at what point you stopped seeing what the instructions said you would see.

Sorry to sound so simplistic here, but I just want to make sure everything is in order.

1.) Do you have the odometer on miles when you start? (that's where mine was)

2.) You put the key physically into the ignition and just turn the very first click position? (I think there are 2 click positions before the third which starts the car).

3.) At this point, you should see: "UB: 12.0 V"

If not, maybe there's a problem. It seems to work across platforms since it works similar between the E63 and the SL600. Here's a video (posted by a forum member...):

yuck. Last question is "how quick" do you press th reset. Supposedly you need to do all 3 in rapid succession.

I don't have a positive answer here, but in some of the other MB series the proceedure for dyno mode changed in pre 2005 year cars, if you do a dyno mode search it should give some info on earlier year dyno mode or if the cars manual if available I would check it if this method does not work.

The "three tap" method does not work for my '03.

Instead of tapping reset three times I have to press and hold the button for what seems like forever but is probably 30 to 45 seconds.

I found this one on the forum...

https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/201412-dyno-mode.html

It looks like it might work with older vehicles. Worth a shot, I figured...
