A Golfer's Question

Hi:

We gave up our SLK because we could not fit two people and two sets of clubs in the car with the top down. Thinking of replacing it with a used R230. Has any one an answer to this question or will it b a trip to the DARK SIDE with a 335 convertible?

TIA -

I can get two stand bags in my SL if you remove the drivers and 3 woods. The clubs will still fit in the trunk but not while in the bag. You can still put the top down too.

I haven't tried a cart bag.

If you are thinking about a 335 convertible, forget about it. You can't get a stand bag in the trunk with the top up or down.

I have a pretty standard carry bag and my wife has a "speed cart bag" which is a little larger. It's tight, but we can put the two bags in the trunk of our SL, with the top down. It takes a little practice, but it is doable, even without taking out the driver and 3-wood.

I checked this out before we bought our first SL (a 2004). The salesman thought I was a little crazy for wanting to make sure two bags fit before I would take the car, but the owner of the dealership is a golfer; he totally understood!

Thanks! You have saved me from the DARK SIDE! I don't mind rearranging the clubs a bit, as long as I can get to the course with all of them. The 335 was appealing because the clubs fit quite easily in the tiny back seat with the top down.
