Got a simple question...

just wondering why mercedes never made a manual version of the SL...

almost all the competitors convertibles have the manual version e.g. Porsche 911, bmw6 series,


seems like this car would be loads more fun with a manual

personally, i have not seen a stick shift SL on the roads in US. I think the clientele who purchases SLs aren't too interested in a six speed and racing. I am pretty sure Mercedes Benz marketing did their homework when designing the SL and thought it was a cost effective move to make an luxury cruiser with auto vs. 5 speed.
