Can MB Financial actually raise the price of your lease??

Supposedly, I got the most unbelievable deal on my 07 SL 550 that Mercedes is losing alot of money on my car and my dealer told me not to be surprised if they try and raise the price on the car if I go to extend the lease.

My deal was 27 months, 27,000 miles and $1159 per month. I have every option except the parktronic and distronic. They took of 12K off the car, paid my last 3 payments of my old CLK 500 and FORGOT to charge me the gas guzzler tax! I paid taxes up front, bank fee, and that was it!

what do you guys think? I would definately NOT pay more for a car that I already have been paying $1159 for per month! I was thinking of either leasing a used 08 SL55 or something else with 3000 miles on it, since the prices drop like almost 20K!

What do you think?

Thanks

I think your dealer is trying to encourage you to buy/lease a new car rather than extend your existing lease. In late 07 SL550's were going for $20K off list. The gas guzzler tax you mentioned most likely got included into the lease payment.

I hope you're right, but I don't think so, but hope you're right.

Do you know if I will be able to get the same deal like I got on an 09 SL by next April? I think I need to order it in January, right?

Let me know.

Thanks!!!

The dealer is correct. If you want to extend your existing lease for say three months expect the payment to be adjusted upward to reflect the new and much lower residual value! I'm in a '07 E350 4M on a 27 month lease ending in January and paying $625/month including tax. I asked for an extention and they would give me three months without ordering a new car, or six if I was ordering a new car, BUT the payment would go to about $850! The buy out was $41k but they would offer me $500 less becuase I own four cars form them! Amazing. No way am I paying more for the same car. I'm working with my dealer to get into an '09 for under $600/month but for 36 months. MB is crazy. Had they offered me a reasonable market price I would have bought it and traded it in when the new 2010 E comes out let next year. Good luck and let us know how you make out. Leasing these expensive cars for the next few years is going to be very costly because the residual values have dropped big time. Someone has got to pay. Maybe Chrysler was right getting out of the leasing business!

Wow, I was thinking of extending for another year possibly... but there is no way I don't think I can get another SL preferably an 09 for $1159 per month, I got away with a deal of a lifetime according to my dealer.

Your thoughts? Anyone?

Extending a lease is basically a brand new lease contract. With residuals for all luxury cars at all-time lows, there's not much you can do.

If you extend your lease, get ready to pay a lot.

If you lease a new car, get ready to pay a lot.

There may be some great financing deals for MB's, but again, get ready to pay a lot even with 0.9% or 0.0% financing. The car becomes yours and so is the eventual resale risk.
