SL 550 Tire Wear

My 2009 SL550 came fitted with Bridgestone Potenza. I have the 19" wheels package. I'm curious what experience you have had with tread life (and other qualities - noise, ride, handling) on the SL550 with Bridgestone or Michelin (e.g., Pilot) tires. Thanks.

I had Michelin Pilot sport , Conti's contact . they all ware out fast. never had the bridgestone . Now i use Michelin pilot sport A/S and successfully got up to 30.000 + on them . and current on my S500 too .

Sold 06 CLS500. SL550 09. SL550 2013. Own C6 Corvette heavily customized garage queen 2005.
Quieter ride??

I also have the Bridgestones and wondered if anyone had the same and then switched to the Pilot Sports or anything else for that matter and noticed a quieter ride? The bridgestones are fairly noisy in my opinion......

Thanks for the input. I've had the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on my CLK, my wife's C-class, and daughter's Audi and like them a lot in terms of noise and wear. Glad to get your feedback.

My 2007 BMW came with Bridgestone Potenza RFT 18" tires and they sucked. I noticed major wear after 5,000 miles, but 19,000 miles they were totally worn out. I drove mainly freeway and am not a aggressive driver. So I would not want another set of Bridgestones, I have Continental Sport Contact 2 on my SL 500 and so far no complaints (3,500 miles).

Those wear out even faster . To me they did , I only got 8.000 miles out of the rear ones . so for now one Michelin Pilot Sport A/S . and ops if you looking for Summer tires try the Yokohama S-Drive comfortable ride and outstanding performance at the same time . (on my 20")
