SL/R230: Chrome options for front end...

Chrome options for front end...
Call me old school...yes I like chrome accents, not too much but just a bit...
I was a shoe in for the 3 slat 07+ grill but after hearing from a few members that it's not a direct fit, I guess I'm not getting it...I really like the chrome strips..
So I'm stuck with two options- I just think the star emblem could use a little matching up..
1. Get chrome strips for the four slat grill. Dont know how this will look as most cover the whole slat , not just the edge.
2. Get chrome rings around the headlights. I know alot of people hate this , but I've seen it on a CLK ( same peanut lights) and E- class and thought it complemented the front end nicely.
I'm not getting both as I think it will be overkill on the chrome..any thoughts?

How about chroming the fins in the hood and side vents? 
You could also be the first to chrome the mesh screens too. 
I'd skip the chrome trims on the headlights. They looked good on the W208 W210 and W211 withe their separate high and low beams. Don't think they look as good on the one piece lights.

All it needs now is some neon. And a chrome fin. 
Oh, and I guess you can never, ever touch it, for fear of getting fingerprints on it.
OK, back on topic... I'd agree with velvet fog on both accounts -- chroming the fins all around could be an interesting highlight, but trimming the headlights could be tricky. I'd say it depends on the car color. It might be too much on a dark car, but perhaps on white or one of the silvers? That could be nice.

i had the 3slat-grille on my 07 sl and found this on e-bay its for a c-class
i had to cut and shape and weld brackets on.
i think it looks sharp
