Smile Engine Trim Panel -- How to Remove ?

Hello,

After researching through the MB DVD, I still can't figure out how to remove the plastic Engine Trim Panel. I would appreciate if someone can give me a few pointers. Thanks in advance.

Lift off the small one near the front and then lift up on the large assembly.

Yep, just lift up the front part of the engine cover making sure not to tilt it too far back as you can possibly break the rear clips holding it to the larger plastic cover. The larger cover may seem like it doesn't want to come off, but just take your fist and slide it sideways under the front of the cover and pop it up. You should see that the large metal clips hold the cover to several large rubber grommets on the top of the engine. Just reverse the steps to put the covers back on, making sure to really press down on the larger cover so that it snaps in place properly.
