suspension problem Yes or No

My 2006 SL500, when I turn off the engine I noticed that my front driver side suspension drops about one half inch, I measured it. All the other wheels stay the same hight of 5.0 inches, and the driver side is 4.5. It remains that way all night long. As soon as I turn the key on, the driver front suspension levels to the other three wheels (5-inches).

I visited the Tampa Florida MB dealer, and to make a long story short, the mechinc said that MB specification for the Sl500 suspension is no more than a 2-inch drop from any or all four wheel is acceptable. The point is that when the car key is turned to on, the computer takes over and levels everything all four wheel suspension.

Does this make any sense?

mine does the same . after i have stopped and get back to the car later the front passenger side will drop a little. sometimes i think it is also caused by the angle of the steering wheel although it only does it sometimes.

SUSPENSION

That was the same story that I was told. The car is allow a two inch drop on any or all for wheels, and depending on the alignment of the wheel, which at the time was slightly off, could be the reason why that particular side drops the half inch. They advised it could be fixed with a 325-dollar wheel alignment, but I said no, and that I will get the wheel alignment when I get new tires.

I took it to another MB dealer, that basically came up with the same conculsion. Wheel alignment/height adjustment.
