The true cost of a Service B

Goldfinger is in for a Service B today with no other issues or problems to be addressed. The 30 day reminder came on last week after 9200 miles since the last service. I'm assuming the reminder is 13000 miles or one year. It's also about 10 days until the factory 4 year/50,000 mile warranty expires.

Anyone care to guess what additional extra services will be required and the out the door total?

So the only extra I needed was an SBC flush. Total for service B was 697 + tax. 420 for labor 267 for parts and fluids. I'm still having trouble sitting down.

MBZ of Sacramento has been running a special on Service B for all models, including the SL. $249, believe it or not. Service A is $179. Just got the coupons in the mail yesterday. Business must be SOFT.

Not sure what the SBC flush costs. I guess that's something I have to look forward to.

You got raped.

SBC Fluid flush is simple and quick. Its the backup fluid for the SBC Brake system and is suggested at 50K Miles. A normal "B" should be under $ 350.00. The SBC flush is $ 150.00.

Live and learn.

Trouble is lack of choice in the Seattle area, all the dealers are close to the same price and I haven't been able to find any independents.

Give Adam a call at Mercedes Garage (Bellevue) next time around. He is the best!! He even cleans your car! The last time I took my car to the dealer for a check up they attempted to clean it and it came back full of swirl marks I do my own detailing (as well as several other local MBs) and I'm very picky about my paint. Adam does a great job.
