Rear window sides are peeling anyone else?
To the left and right of the rear window the black is peeling off.
Did warranty cover this? Any threads on this? Search found nothing.

Greetings,
I had exactly the same problem, and yes, the factory 4/50 warranty covered their replacement. My car was a SoCal/Vegas car and I think the sun just made the glass so hot over time that the paint oxidized and peeled.
Replaced and good as new.

same problem for me too...
But i got quoted for $300 otd... at the dealer... dont forget about the glue that holds these in... i would rather have them painted at the body shop when any repairs or touch up is needed.
Going to the paint booth
I having them painted and cleared . This way it will match the car. I know black is black but its just my thing.
In case someone does find them cheaper post it please.
Going to check a parts guy I know tomorrow.

Mine did the same thing. I had them replaced when I got my car painted after I got some rock chips. I was just going to have the painted black before the claim.
FYI- The Mercedes shop I went to said they cannot be removed with out breaking. And sure enough they got destroyed when they came off at the body shop.

I have the same problem on my 03 SL500. I thought it was from the glass rubbing on the lining while in the trunk. My car is always in the garage execept when out riding and then the top is down most of the time. I would appreciate any fixes with correct costs and part numbers.
Thanks

Various dealers sell parts online, some at a discount, some at full list price. You can try googling the part numbers and a bunch will come up. ~$80 each is about as cheap as I've seen them lately.

If you choose to go with vinyl wrap, be sure to sand your existing panels completely smooth first, removing all of the original top coat. If you leave any flakes/spots of the original top coat and wrap over them, the .001mm height difference -will- show through the wrap.
I wrapped mine and it looked pretty good, but not as good as brand new original panels. I used good quality high-gloss black wrap (3M), but it still had a very slight orange peel/rough finish; it was not glass-smooth. It was worth a try, but I'm pretty picky so I went ahead and bought new panels.
