Where to get service repair manual?
I have a 03 SL 500 and would like to have a "Chilton's " type of service repair manual for my car... any suggestions?

The Tech DVD available from Mercedes has electrical schematics, basic maintenance procedures, and disassembly instructions: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r230...anual-dvd.html. For in-depth troubleshooting, you need "DAS" -- Diagnostic Assistance Software.
DAS is the software component of Mercedes' Star Diagnosis System (SDS) that operates with an IBM T23 or T30 laptop. SDS costs somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000 if purchased from Mercedes, but you can buy clones of it from Chinese sellers on eBay for $500 plus shipping.

2005 SL500. I purchased an MB Star service manual DVD for a R230. Very slow delivery (2 weeks), the DVD will not work (the DVD player is OK). The computer says, insert disc. I contacted MB, very little help. Very disappointing experience.
