Scanning Preset Stations from Steering Wheel
Hello,
I have two keys (1 and 2). I have programmed all my radio stations for both keys. If I select a preset on the center console, all is fine.
Using Key 1, if I use the up/down keys on the steering wheel, it jumps between my presets, which I want. However, if I am driving with Key 2, it jumps to the next available station, not the programmed preset.
Somehow, years ago, I managed to get this set for Key 1, but I cannot find for the life of me how to change the default behavior for Key 2.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kevin

I posted this same question a while ago with no luck. I didnt know diff. keys had diff settings.
I checked the manual and nothing, also an MB Tech buddy of mine didnt know of the top of his head but I'm sure could figure out if I brought it in. O well until then hopefully somoene knows...

I am watching this thread as well for hints to my problem. My key 1 will always return the seat to the memory position when the door is closed and key is on, but the key 2 will not. The dealership checked the settings and said it "should" work.. But they couldn't get key 2 to work like key 1.

There is a setting for "key-dependent memory" somewhere in the menus. If "on", then many of the other settings are per-key, and you have to insert the appropriate key, then change the settings, to get them set for that key.
Alternatively, if you don't have two people driving the car with different prefs, you might want to turn off the "key-dependent memory" feature. I don't know, but you may have to re-do your settings after that, but at that point they should be the same for either key.

I did not know that the key would make a difference. I thought that MB just set the cars to scan through all stations not pre-sets on the wheel buttons. If anyone knows how to override this it would be great.
