appreciate an answer before tomorrow

had the car(SL550) since May 2008, done 20 thousand miles and due for Service B tomorrow morning, even though the dealer programmed it to say I was 1400 miles past service??

Anyway, What can I expect to be charged, as looking at the manual it's a very simple and standard proceedure, nothing major to be done. I don't much care for the dealer, last time they changed the tires for me, it took them 6 hours,(told me it was a difficult job to switch to Michellins, they slightly scratched the rims and charged me an arm and leg? And on top of that, I noticed that two of the weights that they stuck on the wheels have come off!! So how do I know that they will do what they are supposed to do according to the manual and is there anything else I should ask them to look into that comes under the warranty? So far, apart from a few minor details like the flaps not closing properly when the top is opened, an annoying rattle coming from an air vent and the odd persihed rubber seal, this car has been a dream.
Lastly, the tips on my exhaust are starting to peel, in other words, you can see bits of silver where the insides where painted black originally.........wear and tear or under warranty??

Thx so much...

B Service

My 2009 SL550 is due for B service also. Most expensive single itme is replacing brake fluid which is part of service and M-B says is to be done every two years. If these folks scraped your rims and knocked off weights in the process I'd frankly go to another dealer. Estimates range from $300-400 for B service on these models -- at least that's what I've been told. Some dealers are offering discount coupons which might help. Let us know what the tab is. Thanks and good luck.

SL 500
Check area mercedes dealership website and click on Service > Coupons. If they charge you over 450.00, tell them no thanks.

Here in Northern VA, most dealers are becoming quite competitive and offering Service B for $399.00

Service B

I agree service B was $400 at the dealer and low $300s at in independent shop.

update on service charges

$437.00!!! Ft Myers/Naples area always higher than anywhere else. Mind you, they did collect the car from work and lent me a GLK 350, not normally into trucks, but boy does this run quietly and smoothly, a joy to drive and they also had the windscreen re-tinted under warranty and are delivering my car to me tomorrow..the dealership is 40 miles away. So excellent service, but lets also hope that the car was done likewise.
