Factory Paddle Shifters for SL600

Greetings, I am new here. I am planning on buying either a 2005 or 2006 SL600 with <20,000 miles in a years time and am curious as tom when the factory paddle shifters came out. I am under the impression that it was '06 but would welcome confirmation by someone. Thanks

RE: Paddle Shifters

In the US, 2005 (with the AMG Package) was the first year. You might want to verify how MB Canada packaged the cars though, it may be different from the states. Go get that SL600, it is a tremendous car.

Mine will be a US car, anyway. You just can't beat some of those findings on Ebay! Originally, I was looking at slightly used GT-R but was never a gamer and am really drawn by the luxury of the Benz, albeit slightly slower 0-60 times.

So the AMG package had the paddle shifters? I would guess retrofitting is easily viable. I will probably buy stock and then an ECU/TCU chip set for starters. Renntech, Braubus or, well, one of them.
