My possible purchase, your thoughts...

I am looking at a 2005 SL600 w/pano but no sport package, it has 37k and I can buy it for 37,800. It does have new rubber and the dealership claims it has been through an inspection, is missing a key, but got new rubber 1k ago. Looks to be in good condition, but I am yet to see the car. Let me know what you think, and if anyone has ideas on what it will cost to add the paddle shift to the car, I would love to know. Thanks!

I have to tell you,, I would hate to own one of these things without a warranty, but the price seems pretty good for what you get. Nevertheless, I have promised myself that when mine goes out of warranty, it's gone, and I hope to stick with that, because repairs are doggone expensive.

RE: 05 SL600

Your miles are a little high, but the price reflects that. I would have the local MB dealer do a pre-sale inspection, and ask them to run the full ECU diagnostics as it will tell you pretty much everything that happened to the car since it was new. Deduct any repairs or maintenance needed from the price. Also be sure there were no accidents or paint work. I would definitely get a warranty that your MB dealer will work with, these cars are great but expensive to repair.

Good luck, post some pics if you get it!

The miles are a bit higher than id like but think that is a fair price, and I will probably only drive 5 or 6k a year with it. The warranty is the same as what they offer on cars at the mb store in our auto group, so I think that will be ok. I do need to check over the car before signing, but the carfax is clean.
