Question for 2003 SL500 owners
I'm looking at buying a 2003 SL500 with 17k miles. Would appreciate feedback from 2003 owners. Thanks in advance.

Regarless of the low miles, make sure you can get a bumper to bumper warranty first. Once you start rolling with this car you will surely need it for something. I always wonder why people don't drive these cars more. I've got 74k on mine and enjoy it fully. With a warranty of course. What you pay and the options make a difference. Many people go crazy for a "sports" package that I feel is a waste of money. I would go for the good options like nav, voice control, keyless go and wood interior. Good luck.

I purchased a SL 500 about six months ago with 22,000 and had some electrical issues that were resolved. The car is trouble free now; however, expect to spend a few dollars to get the car "ship shape". A fun car to drive, gets decent mileage on the highway but not so much around town. A magnet that draws both sexes to admire the machine. A good warranty, ESSENTIAL and be sure to check the company that issued the warranty, some great some terrible. Good luck.

17k miles on a 2003? Sounds like they garaged the car for long periods of time... if it a personal sale i would speak to the owner to make sure he stored the car properly...
I know people that have left nice cars sitting for a year without draining the fuel tank...then trying to start the car on old fuel.
Just get a 3 warranty for the piece of mind.
