SL500 wheels fit SL55???
I sold my SL500 rims+tires here to one gentleman and his body shop claims that they don't fit onto his R230 SL55? More precisely - the front ones!
is that possible?

Yes. Not only possible, but probable. The SL55 has larger rotors and brake calipers than the SL500. The front rotors are larger than the rear and would be the more difficult fitment.
