k&n air filters
het all,
my first post!! just got a 04 sl500 and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on air filters. usually put k&n's in all my vehicles, this is my first m-b so any advice is appreciated. thanks

I have been running K&Ns in all my cars for years with nothing but great results. When we tune cars, I recommend a free flow filter, as it improves the air flow and we write our software to take advantage of it.
The only time I have seen problems is when the filter is 'over oiled'.

04 CLK 320 > CLK32K
Some people have problems with K&N and some people love them. My experience wasn't great, I ended up switching to Green Filters. You could also go with BMC washables.
