How comfortable are the seats?

First let me mention that I do not have any experience with this car and this in not a complaint. I just would like to know what people who own this car are experiencing.

Does any one have any compliants about the seating comfort of the new SL500?

Does any one have experience driving the previous model and the current model for over 30 mins/ 1 hour / 2 hours? Which car is more comfortable?

Are there any other cars of this caliber that have more comfortable seats.

Please answer only if you have actual driving experience in these cars.

Thanks for your help.

seat comfort

i find the seats very comfortable . 3 hr. trips have been a joy. i have 6000 miles. the adjustments are numerous including a wrap around snug side support.i enjoy the a/c seats and pulse feature. i had Sseries before which is a bit easier to get in and out of.

Seats are great.

Drove in Europe last summer in the SL500 and found seats ideal for long distance driving. The active ventilation feature was welcomed when it got warm too. I recommend the option. (One word of caution though, when you open the door the seats slide back automatically to allow easier access so if you leave anything on the floor behind the seats it can get crushed. I learned not to stash my camera bag back there.)

Certainly agree with northbenz about things getting crushed...

The seats are very comfortable, far more so than the ones in the R129 (old SL). With those, I get lower back-ache after a couple of hours, the seats in the new car are much more supportive and it pays to spend some time getting the adjustment correct.

I have found the SL500 seats to be very comfortable. I am fairly short and have found, unlike in most American made cars, that the seats have multiple adjustment options and are fully capable of adjusting to someone who isn't very tall. At the same time, my boyfriend is 6'1" and has also found the seats to be very comfortable. The seats have so many options as far as adjustment (back, headrest, lumbar, seat length, seat height, wrap around, etc.) that it's hard to imagine you couldn't get it to just the right setting for yourself - short or tall. We have taken both short and long trips in the SL and have found the seats to be very comfortable on both.

I had an Lexus SC430 before the SL and although I have always enjoyed the flexibility of seat adjustment capability in Japanese made cars, I find the SL500 seats much more comfortable. They are more sporty and yet provide the support at the same time.

Sorry to hear you aren't as comfortable with yours as many of us seem to be.
