SL/R230: TPMS Surprise

TPMS Surprise
I just put on a new set of wheels and tires. I had the wheels shipped from California. Upon receipt I had planned to take the car and the new set of wheels to the local tire shop to have the TPMS switched over and the the wheels rebalanced. I had been warned that their will be an error message in the display, if I drive the new wheels without the TMPS installed. Well, I couldn't wait and put the wheels on myself. I took the car for a test drive, but there is no error message. Now I am wondering if I might had all along the version without TPMS (I have not been to the tire place to look into the original wheels). Is there a simple way to find out if the TMPS is installed?

Nice rims I just installed the same ones a couple of weeks ago, I had to go with 10mm shims in rear (I wish they would of told me that prior to installation and a couple of inshes of car movement-ouch)

On my 03 SL500 which has TPMS there is a reset option in the instrument cluster. Its in the same menu as the check oil option, its the next one when scrolling through i think. When you access the sub menu the display shows a plan view of the car with the 4 tire pressures shown at each wheel. You can reset via the + or - on the steering wheel.
Perhaps if you aren't able to reset you don't have it ?.
Id be interested to find out because i have a faulty sensor right now and get the error message every day so if taking them out removes the error then that's far cheaper than 4 x new sensors

The wheel is the Roderick RW-2 Cinque Black. I got them at Need4Speed. The setup in the back is tight, but I don't think that the wheel will touch the inside of the fender, as long as I avoid open manwholes.

Ask for Edgar, he provided me with top notch customer service, because I had about a million quesitions prior to buying the wheels.
