Any advice for someone considering a 500SL purchase
Hi everyone. I have been on the market for a Mercedes Benz for a while now. I have considered many different models and it's extremely hard to decide which car to go with.
I have found a 2004 SL500 30k miles that is in absolutely MINT condition but has no warranty. I really like the car and think that it would be great, but the thought of having a SL500 without a warranty scares the crap out of me. It really seems like this car would make me go broke if something were to go wrong with it... and from reading your posts, things certainly can wrong.
Does anyone have any clue how much an extended warranty would be? Is it possible to get it certified or is it too old?
Thanks!

RE: 05 SL500
If you like the car, and it sounds like you do, get a pre-purchase inspection done at you local MB dealer, and work out any items with the seller before your buy.
I would also get a warranty. Try Easycare.com, they should have a plan, and also factor their quote into your offer for the car.
Good luck and hope it works out.
