SL/R230: Nav CD for France....
If you have broad band and Kazaa lite - could swap the image files that way? I've not found any other COMAND DX data on the web through there though.
I feel its a bit naughty copying them. I did actually buy the Alps one too. Trouble is that I would never buy one for France as I usually just whizz through it. Would be nice to have though. Would like to have BENELUX too and full a Germany CD. Altogether thats 400+EUR I can spend in better ways......!
The BMW ones are better in this respect as all major roads for Europe are on each CD (i.e. but detail only in each country, e.g. UK, down to street/house number level).
We're off to Austria/Switzerland next trip. Would like that one. Have broadband - advice.
I only offered France because there is not copywrite on the CD I have, wouldn't want to do anything illegal ..
That was some time ago when I has a UK C32 AMG Estate. This comes with an interior trim called "Alu Quadra", which is the same cheap nasty looking aluminium finish you get in Avantgarde C classes.
I really wanted the black wood effect (as in the old CLK55AMG), but it was not available in UK models (Euro markets could get it). It was annoying me at the time, and I signing up for the C32 boards, so "NastyAluQuadra" it was. Feels a bit silly now though.
Surpised your CD had no copyright - how so?
If you download/install Kazaa lite, you can put files in a "shared folder" and share them with other users. I suppose you'd need a "image" file of the CD (from NERO or some such) which might be quite large and place it in an appropriate Kazaa "shared folder" on your PC. It will need a good description so the Kazaa search engine can find it. I must admit I was a bit sceptical about Kazaa lite, but my brother talked me into using it. He recommended not to use the full "Kazaa" version as it has loads of adware and spyware, but the "lite" version does all you need and seems OK so far. I've been using it for a month or so, and it seems to work well with no downsides.
PS I take it you're in the Mustard business?
PPS In all other respects the C32 was awesome.
I will buy the UK Nav disc since I will need it to pass on to the next owner but will look at the Kazaa programme, thanks. Bit suspicious of spyware these days - have you seen the Forum posted article on it?
Heard good things on the C32 and saw a new C30 AMG (diesel) Estate in France. Nice, except for the faux carbon fibre interior. Naff..
