When did you begin to hear the creaks?
Where did the sound come from, front, middle or rear?
Did you only hear the noise when you went over bumps or uneven pavement?
I ask because I am trying to diagnose a rattle from the rear of my car.

Finally resolved my creaking problem after years of complaints. Turns out the rear subframe bushings were cracked. Once they were replaced the creaking went away.

The response often came back that they didn't hear the rattle. They subsequently lubricated the roof mechanism, but to no avail. They replaced both rear shocks/struts and still no improvement. The last time I brought it in I was told that the rear subframe bushings were cracked. Don't ask me why they didn't notice this 5 years ago because I do not have an answer for you.
But when they replaced the bushings, the problem went away.

Good luck I hear a thump in my center console like if the exhaust was hitting the bottom of the car only when I go over a bump with the right side of the car can't find anything wrong 2007 sl55 has anybody had that before not the motor mounts
