How to remove hood cover

I want to change the easy things: plugs, air filter, oil. I open the hood and there's this big black cover over the whole thing. I see a metal clip on the front on each side, so I pry them open a little and give it a little tug but nothing happens. Are there screws holding this on? My next step is a crowbar!

The plastic engine cover comes off in two pieces. First remove the two air intake tubes. Then pull the front of the cover up until the two retaining clips pop out( be careful because these break veryt easily).next pull the piece toward the front of the car.

The second piece you need to pull straight up one side at a time.

By 2nd piece, you mean the big piece that looks like it has 3 or 4 ribs, right? Straight up?

Um, the section that is closer to the firewall, you can pull up right from the air intake tube once the extensions and the front of the engine cover is off

Yea... that is all one piece. Pull straight up one side at a time. Those clips are secured to a rubber knob attached to the block so you don't need to be as carefull when popping it off
