Exterior A-pillar cover removal?
As anyone removed the A-Pillar covers? I want to replace mine with covers that have access holes for the roof top carrier. I noticed that there is one screw at the top end hidden in the rubber seal. Is it just a matter of popping the cover off once the screw is removed?

Removing the exterior A-pillar cover was much easier than expected. With the screw removed at the top end, it was just a matter of sliding the plastic wedge tool under the outer edge of the cover. After the three plastic clips were disengaged I freed the top end, worked the metal clips on the inner edge free and then slid the cover back to clear the tab on the outer edge near the bottom of the A-pillar cover.

Vendor for Carbon Fiber A-Pillars?
Can you post a photo of your A-Pillar covers? I am curious to know what they cost. Also, are they offered in long and short versions like the OEM A-Pillar covers? My 2008 SL550 had long covers with an "L" stamped into the top edge where the screw holds it in place.

Here is a picture of my carbon Fiber A-Pillars, please ignore how dirty the car is. I paid $365 plus shipping, I sent them my pillars and they covered them and sent them back so I don't see why they couldn't do the long version as well. This is NOT vinyl it is real carbon fiber over the top of the metal pillar.

Reviving old thread... can't seem to take off interior a pillar trim. What is the "screw removed at top end"? I simply tried pulling on the trim edge under the weather stripping but its stuck on there pretty good. I'm trying to run a dash cam wire under the a pillar trim. Thanks!
