SL/R230: R230 Reliability

R230 Reliability
Maybe not especially relevant to many here but a survey by an extended warranty company here in the UK has shown the R230 to have the worst reliability record of ANY car on sale, where "reliability record" is a mix of failure rate, repair time and repair cost.
There may be all sorts of statistical distortions (people with expensive/complex cars self-select by taking out extended warranties) but for a brand which positions itself on a quality ticket, it's not especially good news for Mercedes-Benz.
That said, it hasn't stopped me ordering a Range Rover which (as Land Rover) has the worst reliability in the survey of any COMPANY.
