2003 SL500 ABC issue
After using sport mode for a day, my inst. cluster indicator continues to show "S" even though I have switched off ABC light on console.
I've made numerous attempts to change "S" to "C" with no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me before I take it in to the MB dealer?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Late,
As I understand the manual, the 2003 SL had "S" for sport and "C" for comfort.
The "C" mode also starts the car off in second gear to be used in winter driving if snow conditions exist. THe "C" mode also adjusts the suspension to a softer ride.
Until this latest episode, I have always been able to swith between "S" and "C" using the ABC switch on the shifter pedestal.
Any differing opinions are welcome.

hmm maybe mine is just different. The only indicator that I have for sport mode on is the red light on the sport button. Nothing comes up on my instrument cluster when mine is switched on or off. Try hitting the s/w button and see if that "s" switches to a "w"

Late,
Perhaps my mind has been playing tricks on me. Just took the car around my neighborhood to play with the switches. Yes, it does switch between S and W with the S/W switch.
Nothing changes on the inst. cluster when going in or out of sport mode other than red light on or off on switch.
Ive never use the W setting since I'm running Pilot Sports and don't use the car in snow which we get plenty of. About to change to Pilot Sport AS which will allow some flexibility and more use of the car during winter months.
Thanks for clarifying this issue in my mind.
By the way, where in New York are you? I was born in Sleepy Hollow.
