Transmission Service Necessary ?

1) Necessary to do transmission service at 40K miles on SL 65 ? Quoted $ 250

Have not had any issues.....preventative I guess?

Thought this was a 60K service item?

2) Also SBC Brake Fluid change - $ 300.....

Prices in the ballpark? Thanks for any info.....feedback, etc...

I have a 2006 SL500 and just did my transmission service at 41k. The owners manual recommendation was 38k according to my service booklet. Look inside your manual to see what it is for the AMG series but I would assume its about the same, if not sooner for such a high performance car. I also noticed a big difference in the shifting once the service was perfomed, so overall really worth it. Also did the brake fluids at the same time. I paid what your being quoted here in Florida.
