I replaced the rear solid rotors on the 2007 SL550 with driller rotors from PerformanceBrakes. They make a horific noise when stopping, extremely loud clicking (cricket?) sound. I contacted Performance Brakes who sent some Posi-Quiet pads to get rid of the noise - no joy. They say they don't know what it is. The MB dealer says it's the rotor design and related to hot air escaping from the holes as the brake pads glide over them.
Has anyone repalced the read solid rotors with drilled rotors successfully without getting this horifc noise? If so, I'm looking for recommendations?
