R230 sl350 Water Pump replacement - Help!
Hi All,
My 2003 SL350 water pump is making a noise, the pulley is wobbling and it appears the bearing is failing.
There is no leakage at the moment as the front seal appears to be holding.
I have just bought a good quality aftermarket water pump and wondered if they are easy to change?
There appears to be easy access to the pump and the belt tensioner for the belt removal.
On looking in the box, there are 2 gaskets, a flat metal one with a rimmed flange and a flimsy looking rubber one.
The flimsy rubber one looks as though it may be quite hard to locate into position when fitting the new pump?
Anyone know what is the correct proceedure for removal and replacement of this water pump?
