E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Batteries R230, both...

what's the preferred setup on them now? OE Mercedes, a quality aftermarket brand (maybe better than OE), something way less $$ than the Benz one, what? Thanks for any help you can offer, or point me to a thread if you know of one.....

I just replace both of mine . I was able to replaced the back with an aftermarket one as for the front I don't think you have any other choice but the dealer.I knew the guys in the parts department so they gave me a pretty good discount .

What brand did you use for the rear battery? Model # would also be much appreciated.

Thanks

just call the 1800# located on your visor for roadside. the nearest MB roadside tech (an actual MB dealership roadside tech) will be dispatched to you. he will come replace the batteries for you and only charge you parts. labor is free. and that goes for ANY Benz ANY year. with or WITHOUT warranty. as far as batteries. replace them with oem.. too many electronics to mess around with. itll cost you about 400$, and you dont have to do it for another 6 years.

I went with one from Pep Boys in the rear and it hasn't given me any issues in the last couple of months.
