How to replace rear emblem on the trunk (the star).

How do you replace the rear emblem on the trunk? I need to replace my 3 pointed star.

My dealer tells me that the emblem has 3 prongs on the back that "stick" into grommets pressed into the sheet metal. He says it should just "pull out."
Hmmmmm...last time someone told me to "just pull out" things didn't go as planned. LOLZ
