Electric consumers are offline
Last week I got the dreaded "electric consumers are offline" message. The electric consumers stayed offline for about half my driving time.
Now the message comes on and stays on for about 90% of my driving time.
I suppose the cheapest and easiest thing to do is replace the battery and see if that solves my problem?

Battery
That is what happened to mine when the battery was dwindling and after a long stay in the spa (garage). There are 2 batteries however and only one needed replacing.

Consumers Offline
Not a big deal, it is your rear (trunk) battery going. Have either a dealer or Indie with STAR replace it, as it will create several error codes when disconnected which should be cleared.

No the 2 batteries have nothing much to do with each other, the front battery is the starter one and nothing else.
Normally the consumers off lamp turns its self off after 10 min of driving if the rear battery is low. The consumers are turned off when the voltage on the battery fall below 11.75 volt to preserve power.
You could have a controller down drawing current when the car is turned off, and best to do a quiescent current check after the car has gone to sleep, circa 1 hour where it should be no more than 55 - 60ma.
The converter box could be at fault, and it needs STAR to check this
