CTek 3300 Connection

Need some help. I just bought. Ctek 3300 and reading the instructions,it appears that if the battery is installed in the car, they do NOT want you to connect both clips to both poles on the battery.

I am leaving foe two months and want to hook it up properly.

They are recommending that if the car is negative grounded, to hook the Red to the positive pole and the Black to a part of the car near the battery. If the car is positive grounded, the hook the Black clip to the negative pe on battery and connect the positive clip to a part of the car.

A. Is the Sl500 positive or negative grounded
B. Is there anything wrong with doing it the old fashion way-red to + and black to - poles and leave the car like that for two months.

Thanks

It is negative ground. You can hook it up the old fashion way. Just hook it to the battery. It doesn't know the difference

I've stored my SL600 for much longer stints than that and just disconnected both batteries. Car fired right back up when I returned with no issues and no COMAND reset needed.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't like to pick up one of those chargers. Just saying...

I have the CTEK 3300 and love it! Be sure to connect it to the rear battery so it can charge them both at the same time.

The CTEK's computer program won't overcharge your battery (unlike a trickle charger).

Just connect it to the rear battery and enjoy your time away...
