SL/R230: ipod direct connection in '05 SL500

Mercedes SL500, BMW 330ci convertible, Nissan pathfinder (daily driver)
ipod direct connection in '05 SL500
i want to have my ipod/iphone plugged into my stereo in my SL.
asked a guy that works at a MB service dept. about he said i can't do it.
there isn't an AUX plug in receptor anywhere in my car. can't i have one put in? does anyone else have a thing in their SL to connect ipod/iphone directly to stereo? is this possible? thanks! (its a 2005 SL500)

ok
pilot, i just looked in my glove box and do not have any jack. what kind of air craft did/do you fly? I'm in college and headed for law school but afterwards i would like to fly jets before i become a lawyer forever.
