55SL AMG Third Brake light. Broken :-( Where do I get one for less than 500.00

Dealership wants 200.00 for the part and 300.00 for labor tax and disposal.

Anyone have one or know where to get one?

WTF?! $500?! Please run from that dealer. Here is another option for $120:

2004 SL500

My 2004 third light is also broke. What does the 09 look like that makes it worth the extra money. Their web site does not show how it looks.

The Third Brake Light for 09 SL63 is Clear-Smoked, instead of the usual boring, flat red color.

The color is Dark-Smoked for SL65.

Check out the Workshop Instructions below and fix it yourself. Save 300 bucks and "dispose" the faulty part yourself
