Adaptive Volume (based upon vehicle speed)

I'm trying to help a family member figure this out, and I don't have much familiarity with the 2008 SL550, although much of the COMAND system seems similar to my 2007 E320.

I seem to recall on older models that the stereo volume would compensate for wind/road noise based upon speed or whether or not the top was down. This feature went as far back as the later W126 models and I believe was present as recently as the W208 convertibles, but I can't seem to find any documentation on it.

Does it still exist, is it something that needs to be enabled, or is it automatic? Can anyone point me in the direction of the documentation? I skimmed through the manual but did not see anything : http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...00_sl65amg.pdf

Thanks!
