Question SL500 Exhaust (R230)

Hi !

I am new to the board (Switcher)

I am looking for a better sounding exhaust system for my SL500.

Brabus and Eisenmann are the options I found thus far. Has anybody experience with either exhaust ?

What else is out there ?

Thanks for your help.

Gary

SL exhaust

Consider the AMG exhaust:
part No. B6 603 2000

Unhappy RENNTECH /Exhaust

I talked to RENNTECH and they currently have nothing for the SL500.

Is that an option?

I heard that there's a problem with the pressure when using AMG exhaust on SL500. Please advice.

Talking

Eisenmann can yield you about 6% HP increase with a deeper sound. While on the other hand, Brabus sounds more like OEM (similiar HP gain), but Brabus is a piece of art and is more balanced. Choosing which one totally depends on your own personality I believe because pricewise it won't vary much.

You also have choice of Kleemann, Lorinser, FabDesing, Fabulous, Wald, Opera, MHDezent... EDITED FOR VIOLATION OF TOU.

Just changing the exhaust of a car is for cosmetic purpose more than anything else. Whoever said changing an exhaust can give hp increase is lying. Until we can see some proof (such as before and after on a dyno graph), I'd suggest whoever is making these misleading statements to keep their mouth shut for now.

Depending on what you want to achieve, if you want it to sound "loud", then Eisenmann is not a bad choice. If you want it to sound "roaring deep", then Brabus is the way to go.
