Notice this problem recently where the car starts but with a long crank/turn over... majority of the time happens when the car is parked indoor (underground car park, indoor parking) where the temperature is rather stuffy and hot. No matter how long I cool the car for, 30 minutes, an hour, 2 hours or even 3-4 of shopping at a shopping mall same problem arises.
Problem seldom appears if the car is left outdoor even with immediate start up or 30 minutes rest the car starts fine without a problem.
I've read a lot of post on this forum and did manage to change the crank shaft sensor hoping it will solve the problem.
same problem is still there... does anyone have any idea on whats going on?
Cheers!

How old is your front battery. Check it and see. It is marked on the top. My 04 was still the original. Bought new one and problems went away.

I have the same thing happen from time to time.. I showed it to my MB service writer and he just shrugged and said its normal.. No need to be concerned. Sometimes it winds up for 3-5 seconds.. He assured me that it was nothing to worry about.

i'd look at the starter battery first or the crankshaft position sensor might be on the way out.
