SL/R230: Music DVD stopped playing?

Music DVD stopped playing?
In my 05 SL600 I put in a DVD which I recorded and it played fine.
About halfway through the DVD I tried to use the steering wheel controls
To advance to the next song and the DVD stopped playing.
I tried ejecting it and trying again but no matter what I do it says doesn't
Recognize format or something like that.
Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
