SL/R230: 2006 SL500 issues

2006 SL500 issues
I recently bought my 2006 SL500 with only 5K miles and have been reading various posts in this forum and wonder if someone can summarize of the potential problems that may develop for this model... thanks in advance.
Couple things I would like to seek some advise:
1) my COMMAND unit display screen is fading out when I look at it at an angle (i.e. from driver/passenger seat for example)... when I looked at it directly in front then I am able to see 'ok' (but not great). I tried to adjust via the day/night mode or the Brightness level but nothing seem to help.
2) I read the manual that this model should have a windscreen but I look all over place and just can't find this thing stored anywhere. Also the manual said if I have it i would be able to install in the popup roll bar but again, i looked at the popup roll bar and just can't find where to attach the windscreen (IF i have one to install that is).
