Check Engine Light After Hibernation
Hello Members
I have 2009 SL550 with about 10K miles. For the last 2 months my car was in my garage while I was away on business. Today I took the car from the garage, but needed to use the key to open the door for the remote did not work. The car started fine and noticed that I was on empty of fuel so off to the gas station. About 500 feet from the gas station I noticed that the car started to tremble and guessed that I was running out of fuel. I received 21.27 gallons of premium fuel and noticed that the car was hesitating and the check engine light came on. I made it home and wondered because the tank was practically empty and guess that something must have gone tbough the gas line?
Can anyone provide feedback if this has happen to you and what about the check engine light? Also I will be going away again and what is the best way to store my car?

Daytime: Slow and easy with 2006 SL500 & 2003 S430 . Night time: Hard and Fast with my wife
after 2 months sitting idle your battery must have been drained quite a bit and that could be the reason why certain function is not working 'properly'. Hopefully you can just charge it up or just replace the battery. I woud take the advise of this forum and buy a CTEK-7200 charger and trickle charged your battery next time you are away on business for extended period.
