SL/R230: Selecting map orientation on SATNAV

Selecting map orientation on SATNAV
I have andSL 500 2002 and i have tried to change the map orientation from North to Heading up.
In the manual it says:
Turn the right hand rotary/puch buton to higlight the (1), (which should be the compass arrow.) and press to confirm.
I have tried that on my comand, but the only thing that shows is the map scale symbol.
What do i do wrong? Anyone know?
I have a new disk 2012.
