1st official ebay sale - LE at $115,000
Have been monitoring ebay sales of the new 2003 SL. Several have pulled their listings (probably because of private sales outside ebay.) The first one to actually go to the highest bidder appears to be a Launch Edition that went for $115,000.00 in Los Angeles, CA with the luxury tax already paid.

LE MSRP
Traumatic posts that the LE MSRP (with phone) is $105,000. With the added phone option cancelling out the luxury tax deducted from the ebay sale price that makes for a premium of $10,000.00 over MSRP - and that is on the limited Designo Launch Edition.
A poster from San Diego advised he picked up his Launch Edition for $300 under MSRP.

BUYING @ MRSP is possible
I called my sales person last week to place an order for SL 500, she said their list is closed, and the waiting period is 2 years. She later called me a day after and was offering an LE for $13500 over MRSP and that the waiting period is now under a year if I want to place an order. It seems many people did not take delivery of their SL, or maybe most changed their order to SL55, those who are wise will be able to get the car at MRSP, with about 5 months waiting. Maybe the economy is not doing too good.
