mercedes 500 sl 2003
hi to everyone i have mercedes 500 sl 2003 it keeps on coming up with error code throttle sensor pedal positionsensor a cicuit hi sh. it wont accelerate till i clear fault then its fine for a while anyone know exactly what it is and how to rectify problem regards barry help ?

I am not familiar with your model however most mercs have pistons in brake calipers only on one side and a moving caliper take wheel off and behind caliper is usually 2 bolts some times inside two robber boots undo thes and gently usi a pro bar to send pistons back into caliper it is sometimes better to take off brake Reston off while you do this I usually take photo of calliper before I start for ref pads usually come out easily or use screwdriver to dislodge then put back in same order put top back on fluid then when finished pump brakes and go for run to bed brakes in.

Always willing to learn thanks for that I have changed many disc pads in that way on many vehicles never had a problem why not share your correct way with us all that's what this forum is for always will listen to an expert

Brake pad replacement is very well documented in this forum. Just run a search and you should be able to find a step by step procedure on how to replace the brake pads. The main difference from conventional brake pad replacement is that on the SL's the brakes have a secondary system where they get activated every time the door opens. So you can disable the ABS system via the STAR diagnostics or disconnect the batteries and then proceed with the normal brake replacement.
