vario roof not operational
hey i have a 2003 sl500 and the vario roof is completely inoperable i had the car painted and the body shop put a piece of cardboard to keep the roof open a little bit then the roof wouldnt operate properly so they messed around with it and not it isnt doing anything cant here the pump running it isnt doing anything at all brought the car to the local dealership they told me they do not know what the problem is without getting to far into it and removeing all the panels and checking all the micro switchs the head mechanic at the dealership retired the day before i brought the car there any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you receive any message on the dash at all when you try to operate the roof? Error messages?
Sounds like you need to find another dealer. Check the fuses but other then that the quickest/easiest way to diagnose the roof will be with Star Diagnostic at a dealer. This is the diagnostic software the dealer uses to diagnose faults with the car. It can diagnose all the switches etc in the top without so much as removing a single panel.
